I like this article for the most part - but you say “We are all tired, overwhelmed and ashamed of our inability to keep up.” But I’m not.

I’ve stepped out of that paradigm a long time ago and I’m not the only one to do so. I’m coming to believe that the chaos without is a reflection of the chaos within, and as the chaos within me eases and calms, the world outside of me looks completely different. I don’t care what anyone else thinks of me anymore. I am not trying to woo anyone to my way of being. It’s incredibly freeing and I believe it is the direction that we all want to go in - one world many realities. Or, you could say, 8 billion people 8 billion worlds. There’s ego-centrism for you.

Like the Billy Joel song, My Life: ‘They will tell you you can’t sleep alone in a strange place, then they tell you you can’t sleep with somebody else. Oh but sooner or later you sleep in your own space, either way it’s okay you wake up with yourself” I have always taught that the relationship you have with yourself sets the tone for the relationships you have with everybody else in your life. That’s the key. Not dissolving into a community or a co-dependent relationship - but healthy adults coming together because they want to, not because they have to. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks Orla you’re a good writer, looking forward to your next endeavour.
